How to access subsidised ADHD Coaching
· The Job Access Employee Assistance Fund can provide $1,610 towards coaching in a 12-month period if you’re in Australia and have a formal diagnosis. Please see below for further details. ⬇️
· Coaching may be classed as a business expense if you operate under an ABN, or as a self-education expense if you’re an employee. Check with your accountant for details.
· Your employer’s annual Learning and Development (L&D) budget could fully or partially subsidise coaching.
How the Employment Assistance Fund (EAF) Can Fund Your ADHD Coaching
In Australia, the Employment Assistance Fund (EAF) provides financial support to employees and self-employed individuals with disabilities, including neurodivergent conditions like ADHD and autism. This includes up to $1,642.29 per year (as of January 2025) for specialist neurodiversity coaching under "Specialist Mental Health Support."
Who Is Eligible?
✅ Employees or self-employed individuals with a formal diagnosis (e.g., ADHD, autism, anxiety)
✅ Employers of a person with a disability
✅ Australian residents with supporting documentation (e.g., GP letter, diagnosis report)
How to Apply
1. Register online - Create a new registration online and link your MyGov ID to Job Access
2. Submit an application under "Specialist Mental Health Support" (capped at $1,642.29)
3. Upload supporting documents (e.g., diagnosis confirmation, employment proof). If self-employed – a job description, list of disability specific workplace barriers and solutions, summary of timesheets for last 13 weeks, and summary of earnings such as a BAS or tax statement or list of invoices)
4. Speak to your employer, who will complete a Proof of Employment form. If you’re uncomfortable doing this, call EAF on 1800 464 800 to request an exemption.
5. Once approved, you’ll receive a form from the EAF that I must complete. This includes details of your specific situation and how coaching will help (workplace barriers and strategies)
6. You submit the completed form, wait for final approval
7. I will invoice you
8. You get reimbursed
The process typically takes two weeks from application to approval.
